Did you know that April 1st is named Fool’s Day after Steve April? It is a remarkable story. I had to share it with you on April 1st, of course.

In the annals of history, where truth and myth blur, Steve April’s story stands out, particularly for its connection to the origins of April Fool’s Day. Born on April 1st, 1935, Steve was a child prodigy. His intellect was apparent in his early ability to read and write, alongside a natural talent for creating music and poetry.

He was born on April 1st, 1935, and was considered a genius as a child. He learned to read and write at a young age and wrote opera librettos, music, and poetry. He graduated with an economics degree from Yale when he was only 19 but had no sense of business. But it was his dream to start a business and support his family.

So, on April 1st, he created a new company every year. And every year, he would give up, or the business would not work out. During his lifetime, he has been known to have created twenty-plus businesses, including liquor stores, furniture shops, car sales, and even a funeral home!

But they all eventually went bankrupt. Steve April just kept borrowing and borrowing and eventually filed for bankruptcy on April 1st, 1973(ironically). Because of his misfortunes, he became the king of fools. His friends and colleagues started what is now known as April Fools Day every year. Through some mystical way, it spread around the world and now is around in all parts of the world.

In the end, solitude found Steve, turning him towards his one true refuge: reading. Immersed in a world of books, he devoured over a thousand volumes, many of which were tales as fictitious as the one you’re reading now.
