Celtic Thunder, the World renowned Irish music group created by show producer Sharon Browne has performed live to over 1.5 million people.

Hit that play button and enjoy.

Pretty incredible video if I do say so myself!

But where did Celtic Thunder come from?

In 2007 producer Sharon Browne filmed the first-ever Celtic Thunder show at the Helix in Dublin, Ireland.

The concept was to feature a group of men from Ireland and Scotland.

They also were to range in age from 14 to 40 and feature songs that celebrate a common Celtic heritage.

Since the original group’s formation in 2007, Celtic Thunder has released twelve albums as well as ten live performances on DVD, three of which were split into two releases.

How did George from Celtic Thunder die?

Sadly the video you see above features Celtic Thunder’s principal singer George Donaldson, 46, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, after suffering a massive heart attack at his home in Glasgow, Scotland.

At Scotland’s Celtic Park, Donaldson played to 65,000 fans at the opening match of the 2000-2001 season.

I've always wondered why Celtic Thunder all sing with legs widely splayed and pelvis thrust forward.
