I published this article in September 2021 with Michael Flatley’s greatest moments, and I briefly spoke about his passion project titled “Blackbird”. At the time, it had been in production since 2018, and many journalists said Blackbird would only be a vanity project. But they were wrong, and I have just watched the brand new trailer for his upcoming movie that is due to hit Irish cinemas on September 2nd.

So what is Blackbird?

Well, Flatley has taken off his dancing shoes and replaced them with spy shoes. He is the hero we all needed 😁. Filming for this movie took place in Cork, Barbados and London.

IMDB describes the plot as

Troubled secret agent “Blackbird” abruptly retires from service and opens a luxurious nightclub in the Caribbean to escape the dark shadows of his past. An old flame arrives and reignites love in his life but she brings danger with her.

The thriller also stars Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), Patrick Bergin (Sleeping With The Enemy, Patriot Games), Nicole Evans (Captain America) and Ian Beattie (Game of Thrones).
