Melanie spent five years backpacking solo around the world and turned her wanderlust into a career when she became a freelance writer and photographer.

Based in Dublin, she writes for various print and online publications and particularly enjoys writing about gastro-tourism, wine tourism, road trips and driving holidays. Her storytelling style of writing won her the Best Newcomer Award at the Travel Extra Travel Journalist of the Year Awards 2019.

She has a WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and is a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers. She is also a motoring journalist and spends a lot of time on the road testing cars and plotting epic road trips.
